Schoodic Peninsula is spectacular and easy to drive with easy, low traffic walks along the roadside and in parking areas. From there, take the coastal roads (187) through Machias to Lubec (via 191) and then up to Eastport. This could easily take two or more days, so look for places to stay or for places to turn around and take US 1 back.
