New Safeway locations joined UFCW Local 7's strike efforts on Monday, bringing the total to six locations across the state with more expected in the coming days.Among the hundreds of union workers already on strike is Castle Rock store clerk Tanner Vonstein.

Stores in Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Greeley and Longmont will hold strike-authorization votes tonight and tomorrow morning.

The Safeway strike in Colorado is rolling out in bits and pieces. Workers in Grand Junction joined the picket line on Tuesday, temporarily shutting down the store. A spokesperson for Safeway said the store is expected to reopen by 4 p.m. today, including the pharmacy.
