Since then a number of polls have indicated Mamdani enjoyed a comfortable lead over Cuomo, his closest challenger. However the Tulchin Research survey indicates Mamdani could be in trouble if other candidates drop out of the race and he faces Cuomo in a head-to-head battle.

Hochul’s letter to Noem comes a day after state Attorney General Letitia James and her counterparts from 11 other states filed a lawsuit against Noem, DHS and FEMA for allegedly depriving the states of hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to keep communities safe.
