College baseball's national championship will be decided Saturday in a first round College World Series game between SEC rivals Arkansas and LSU. That's pure conjecture, of course, because the eight-team College World Series begins Friday and lasts at least 10 days,

FAYETTEVILLE — Little Rock transfer right-handed pitcher Jackson Wells committed to the Arkansas baseball team Wednesday. Wells, a Rogers native who played his freshman season at UA-Rich Mountain in Mena before playing the 2023-25 seasons with the Trojans, is the Razorbacks’ first transfer commitment this offseason.

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas will play LSU on Saturday night at the College World Series. The game between the Razorbacks (48-13) and the Tigers (48-15) has a scheduled first pitch for 6 p.m. at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Neb. It will be televised by ESPN.

The current Jell-O shot record stands at 68,888, which was set by the LSU faithful at Rocco's in 2023 during the Tigers' national championship run. The previous year's mark of 18,777 shots taken by Ole Miss fans was more than tripled by LSU.
