One person was killed and three others were injured when a pursuit came to a violent end in the city of Commerce late Saturday evening.

COMMERCE — An alleged wrong-way driver sparked a brief pursuit with the California Highway Patrol in Commerce, ending in a two-vehicle crash that killed a bystander and critically injured three others, including a pedestrian who had their legs severed, authorities said Sunday.

Both driver and passenger allegedly tried to open their doors and run during the chase. The vehicle crashed and the passenger fell from an open door onto asphalt.
