The nominees for the CMA Award for new artist of the year for 2025 are: Ella Langley; Shaboozey; Zach Top; Tucker Wetmore and Stephen Wilson, Jr. Shaboozey and Top were both nominated in the same category in 2024.

Nominations for the 2025 CMA Awards were announced on Monday, Sept 8 in a live stream hosted by the Association. Wilson, Megan Moroney and Ella Langley are tied for the most nominations this year. Here are the artists nominated for some of the night's biggest awards.

The Country Music Association has officially announced the nominees for the 59th Annual CMA Awards. The 2025 CMA ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. The show will air live on ABC from 8 to 11 p.m. ET. Next-day streaming will be available on Hulu.

The CMA has presented new artist of the year (formerly known as the Horizon Award) 44 times. As the years have gone by, the winners have gotten appreciably older.

The event featured Wallen and Wilson as the evening's most-nominated male and female artists, respectively. Also vying for the night's top awards were Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Shaboozey, Cody Johnson and Jelly Roll.

It’s the Album of the Year nomination that is particularly interesting. With the nod, Top is now one of only 19 artists in the history of the CMA Award to score an AOTY nomination for their debut album, joining the likes of Chris Stapleton’s Traveller, Brooks & Dunn’s Brand New Man, Randy Travis’ Storms of Life and more.
