The Evergreen High School student suspected of opening fire on two schoolmates before fatally shooting himself was identified as 16-year-old Desmond Holly, authorities said Thursday.
The shooter who shot and injured two students at Evergreen High School on Wednesday kept shooting and reloading, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and much of the credit for saving lives goes to the students and staff.
Evergreen High School will be closed Thursday and Friday as the Jeffco School District reaches out to families to connect them to mental health services throughout the community southwest of Denver.
