The Florida Gators quarterback Lagway had a night to forget (and then some) against No. 3-ranked LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. on Saturday. Lagway threw not one, not two, not three, not four, but five interceptions on the game, including a pick-six in the third quarter that effectively ended the Gators’ chances of an upset.

Florida’s stunning home loss to USF Saturday night put the Gators on their heels heading into SEC play and coach Billy Napier back on the hot seat. UF lacked discipline and killer instinct, while sophomore star quarterback DJ Lagway was ordinary.

He remains accountable, if not terribly accurate. Befitting his role as the Florida Gators’ resident stalwart, quarterback DJ Lagway refused to cite his myriad offseason injuries as an alibi for his uneven performance in Saturday’s 18-16 loss to USF.

DJ Lagway has a 72% completion and four touchdowns this year. Despite criticism of Billy Napier's play-calling, expectations are high against the LSU Tigers.

When Florida signed DJ Lagway as the No. 1-ranked quarterback in his class, it was clear the program was getting a special prospect. What may not have been as clear at the time was how much of an impact he would have on recruiting for years to come.
