Victim advocates and mental health professionals will be available to the Colorado community in the days after the shooting at Evergreen High School.
Students at Evergreen High School in Colorado were more than halfway through the school day in their third week of classes this semester when over 100 law enforcement officers swarmed the campus, searching every room for an active shooter as they went into lockdown.
Evergreen High School will be closed Thursday and Friday as the Jeffco School District reaches out to families to connect them to mental health services throughout the community southwest of Denver.

DENVER (AP) — Three teens have been hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting at a suburban Denver high school, authorities said Wednesday. The shooting happened around midday at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, about 30 miles west of Denver, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley said.
One person was wounded Wednesday in a shooting at a high school in the Denver metro area. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the shooting took place just after noon at Evergreen High School. The school is located at 29300 Buffalo Park Rd. in Evergreen, which is 28 miles southwest of Denver.
