Mikaela Shiffrin failed to qualify for a second run in a giant slalom event for the first time since 2012 while competing at a World Cup race in Sestriere, Italy on Saturday, since she finished outside the top 30 skiers.

In just her second GS race Saturday three months after a serious crash, the American star did not qualify for a second run for the first time since 2012.

Italy's Federica Brignone completed a women's World Cup giant slalom double in Sestriere on Saturday as U.S. ski great Mikaela Shiffrin failed to make the cut in the discipline for the first time since 2012.
