Fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are used to seeing the number 14 and the name "Godwin" on the back of their star wide receiver's jersey as he trots into the end zone. That sight will look slightly different in 2025 and beyond.

TAMPA — This is a very special Father’s Day for Chris Godwin. In January, the Bucs receiver and wife Mariah became first-time parents to son Ace. Nearly a year earlier, 10 days after the Bucs lost to the Lions in a division-round playoff game, Godwin’s father, Rod Christopher Godwin Sr., died of cancer.

Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin is making a different kind of change. He's adding "Jr." to his jersey, in honor of his father. "As a professional athlete, you are always recognized for the name on the front of your jersey,
