A lottery player won the biggest jackpot in Missouri history on Sept. 6, thanks to a Powerball ticket sold at a QuikTrip in north St. Louis County. The winner will split a nearly $1.8 billion prize.
Two lucky tickets hit the $1.787 billion Powerball jackpot in Saturday’s drawing, marking the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
“It was a record setting night for the Missouri Lottery, with the $893.5 million prize ranking as the highest jackpot prize won in Missouri to date,” said MO Lottery Executive Director Lester Elder. “It exceeds the previous record of $293.7 million from a Powerball drawing held in November 2012.”
