But the recommendations on COVID-19 vaccines are coming late this year, about three weeks after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the latest versions of the shots. They're also coming from a newly overhauled committee that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stacked with vaccine skeptics.
In addition to New York, the group, known as the Northeast Public Health Collaborative, includes New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland and New York City.
New York and a consortium of other northeastern states issued their own Covid-19 vaccine recommendations on Thursday in response to the federal government’s restrictions to the immunizations.
