Former Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford has been signed to the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter. The news comes on the heels of Joe Burrow suffering a turf toe injury that will sideline him for at least three months.
The Packers selected Clifford in the fifth round of the 2023 draft after an illustrious career at Penn State. Clifford left as the program's all-time leader in completions, passing yards, passing touchdowns and wins as a starting quarterback, among others.
With Burrow unavailable, the Bengals signed two new quarterbacks, Sean Clifford and Mike White, to their practice squad on Tuesday, bringing their QB room to four healthy players behind starter Jake Browning and veteran Brett Rypien.
