Typhoon Wipha has moved away from Taiwan after dumping heavy rain on its east coast. The storm has now moved towards Hong Kong, bringing wind and rain across the territory.

High winds and rain whipped the southern Chinese territory, with waves crashing against the shores of Hong Kong.

Most typhoons scrape or strike places like the Philippines, Japan and Taiwan; they can also hit the Korean Peninsula, China and Vietnam, bringing damaging winds and storm surges.
