Hinson, who said she is "honored" to have Trump's support, announced her intention to run earlier this week "vowing to be President Trump's strongest ally in the Senate," according to her news release about her candidacy. She represented Iowa's 1st District from 2021 - 2023 and Iowa's 2nd District from 2023 to now due to redistricting.
