Telugu to be compulsory for Class 9 students in Telangana CBSE, ICSE and IB schools from 2025-26, for Class 10 from 2026-27.

Currently Telugu must be taught till Class 10. The CM said that all educational institutions in the State, both private and government, must teach Telugu as a compulsory subject from Class 1 to 12.

The Telangana government has made it compulsory to include Telugu language as a subject for classes 1 to 10 in all boards across all the schools in the state.
