It's true most violinists start early, but not everyone does—or needs to. There's plenty of joy to be found in learning violin as an adult.

Zaria originally wanted to learn to play the piano, but the violin was something new for the teen, who just wants to learn to play an instrument.

Part of that education involves the violin. "All of our students learn how to play violin, K thru 5th grade," said music teacher, Maddison Erskine. It's more than just learning to play.

Through a special partnership with the Winston-Salem Symphony, these kindergartners at Easton Elementary School are learning how to play the violin.
