BUFFALO -- Mats Zuccarello scored at 1:47 of overtime, and the Minnesota Wild recovered for a 5-4 win against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Saturday.

Two goals against in 11 seconds to close out the first period, plus inopportune penalties, helped dig a hole the Wild couldn't escape.

The Wild pelted Buffalo goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in the second and third periods, but could not get a decisive shot past him until Kaprizov set up Zuccarello for the overtime winner. Luukkonen had 31 saves for the Sabres, who won in a shootout in November, in their only visit to St. Paul this season.

New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes admitted he was not familiar with the Minnesota Wild's game before the Quinn Hughes trade.

Minnesota Wild star winger and leading goal scorer Matt Boldy has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body ailment, the team announced on Friday. That means he'll miss at least the next four games.

Jesper Bratt and Ondrej Palat each scored twice and the New Jersey Devils beat the Minnesota Wild 5-2 to snap a four-game skid.
