Burns claimed the 36-hole lead at Oakmont Country Club with a five-under 65, the best round of the tournament through two rounds. Burns holds a one-shot lead over 18-hole leader JJ Spaun, who dropped two shots after his opening-round 66.

By Frank Pingue OAKMONT, Pennsylvania (Reuters) -Heavy rain and dangerous weather forced a stoppage in play during the final round of the U.S. Open on Sunday at Oakmont Country Club where overnight leader Sam Burns was clinging to a one-shot lead over Australian Adam Scott.

The final round of the 2025 U.S. Open Golf Championship takes place on Sunday with three golfers at the top of the leaderboard within one stroke of each other, setting up for a thrilling championship Sunday.

Serving as U.S. Open host for the 10th time, Oakmont has shown its teeth to the field as only four players entered Round 4 with under-par scores. That number is down to one with the first nine having been completed Sunday.
