President Donald Trump complained Thursday that the United States provided too many weapons to Ukraine under the previous administration, his first public comments on the pause in some shipments as Russia escalates its latest offensive.

The delay comes after Trump told a Ukrainian journalist he would try to make anti-missile systems “available” to defend against Russia’s onslaught.

American media, citing confirmation from the White House, widely reported the Pentagon’s decision to pause the delivery of air defense missiles and other ammunition to Ukraine. Kyiv has already responded and stated that it has requested a call with the United States to clarify all the circumstances.
