AFSCME District Council 33, representing more than 9,000 city employees from dispatchers to sanitation, was on strike for eight days.

In the wee hours of Wednesday, District Council 33 officials and the City of Philadelphia reached a tentative contract agreement. The union has yet to vote on it.

The deal includes a new three-year contract coupled with the one-year contract extension and a 14% pay increase over the next four years.
