Talks aimed at cooling tensions between the US and China have ended in a "deal", according to US President Donald Trump. He said China had agreed to supply US companies with magnets and rare earth metals, while the US would walk back its threats to revoke visas of Chinese students.

The deal removes Chinese export restrictions on rare earths minerals and allows Chinese students access to U.S. universities.

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the United States is now in trade negotiations with "around 15 countries," including Japan and South Korea, after announcing a new trade agreement with China earlier that same day.
