Rutherford’s Vancouver Canucks, themselves dealing with a surplus of goaltending at the NHL and minor-league levels, dealt goaltender Arturs Silovs to the Penguins on Sunday afternoon. In return, the Penguins are sending a 2027 fourth-round NHL Draft pick and prospect Chase Stillman to the Canucks.

The Penguins’ goaltending situation seemed easy to read after Alex Nedeljkovic got sent to San Jose: Tristan Jarry is the starter in Pittsburgh. The backup is Joel Blomqvist, Filip Larsson or Sergei Murashov.
