Wells and Edey are the third pair of Grizzlies teammates to be named to the All-Rookie first team in the same season. Current Grizzlies Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke achieved this feat in 2019-20, while Pau Gasol and Shane Battier first did so in 2001-02.

Former Purdue superstar Zach Edey received NBA All-Rookie honors after averaging 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds per game in his first year with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The NBA announced its All-Rookie teams on Tuesday with Zaccharie Risacher and Zach Edey joining Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle on the first team.
