Epic Games is releasing Unreal Engine 5 so developers can build next-generation games, digital films, and the metaverse.

Eidos Montreal has announced the 'Dawn Engine', a next-gen game engine that is designed exclusively for PCs and the recent generation of consoles.

In other words, next-gen games made in Unreal Engine 5 are going to be very, very pretty, and in subtle but significant ways, much closer to photorealism than current-gen titles.

Studio boss Brian Fargo also confirmed on Twitter that its “next gen RPG” will use Unreal Engine 5. Unreal Engine 5 is Epic Games’ next-gen game engine.
