Zootopia 2 Goes Past $1 Billion in Record Time
As Zootopia continues to screen in theatres for the third week, the Disney film has already surpassed a major box office milestone.
Zootopia 2 after making a $1 billion at the global box office, is no. 1 in its third weekend at the U.S. box office with $25M.
"Zootopia 2" is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $26.3M in receipts this weekend. "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" is No. 2 with $19.5M.
Disney's Zootopia 2 is on its way to becoming one of Disney's biggest movies ever, already grossing close to $1 billion since it opened on Thanksgiving weekend. That puts it on coarse to potentially surpass The Lion King and Inside Out 2, which both took over $1.6 billion.
Zootopia has become the highest-grossing hollywood movie of 2025 and is only the second highest-grossing hollywood film in Chinese history.

Box Office Annihilation: ‘Zootopia 2’ Clears $1B Globally Faster Than Any PG-Rated Pic in History
In a double win, the animated blockbuster is also pulling ahead of 'Five Nights at Freddy's' to rule the roost at this weekend's box office.
The animated sequel Zootopia 2 hit the $1 billion mark in just 17 days. Disney announced the news on Friday. This achievement makes the film the fastest PG rate
The real cherry on top for me regarding this Zootopia 2 joke is the filmmaking team it comes from. The movie is co-directed by Byron Howard with Walt Disney Animation Studios’ CCO Jared Bush as the other co-director and writer. And, Howard specifically is also the director of the original Tangled.
