The chicken chain's parent company, Yum Brands, announced Tuesday that KFC's corporate headquarters is leaving Kentucky for Texas, joining sister brand Pizza Hut's offices in the Dallas suburb of Plano.

According to Yum! Brands, about 100 KFC U.S. corporate employees in Louisville will be moving to its KFC and Pizza Hut Global headquarters in Plano, Texas, outside of Dallas. It’s a process that will take approximately six months to complete.

According to Yum! Brands, the relocation will involve approximately 100 KFC U.S. corporate employees currently in Louisville to the KFC and Pizza Hut Global headquarters in Plano, Texas, north of Dallas.

KFC, formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is leaving its birthplace of Kentucky and finding a new home in Texas. The chicken chain’s parent company, Yum! Brands, announced on Tuesday, Feb. 18, that it will be moving its headquarters to Plano, a suburb of Dallas, to join the brand’s sister company Pizza Hut Global.

Yum, the parent company, and the KFC Foundation will keep offices in Louisville. More than 500 workers will still be based there. Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill will remain headquartered in Irvine.
