The fatal hit-and-run is one in a string of street racing and street takeover deaths and injuries in Los Angeles.

A driver who was street racing struck and killed a pedestrian in South Los Angeles Saturday night, police said. The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. in the area of 66th Street and Normandie Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, around 10:00 p.m., two vehicles were street racing, a grey Dodge Charger and a dark colored Chevrolet Tahoe both traveling southbound Normandie Avenue at 66th Street. The victim walking outside of the unmarked crosswalk westbound Normandie Avenue near 66th Street, was struck by the grey Dodge Charger.

A woman was fatally struck by a Dodge Charger that was racing another vehicle in South Los Angeles and both vehicles fled the scene, authorities said Sunday.

A woman was killed Monday when she was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in the Florence area of Los Angeles. The crash occurred at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday at 74th and Main Streets, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The victim, who was walking outside the unmarked crosswalk, was struck by the grey Dodge Charger, police said. The Charger sped away from the scene.
