Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement shared on social media that he and the community were “devastated” by the attack, and were keeping the victims in their thoughts.

A boy opened fire with a handgun at a high school in the foothills of suburban Denver on Wednesday and shot two teenagers before shooting and injuring himself, authorities said.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the students were injured in a shooting at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, about 30 miles west of Denver, and taken to the hospital.
