Thousands are expected to take part in "Good Trouble Lives On" demonstrations nationwide on Thursday to protest what organizers call the "sweeping rollbacks of civil and human rights" under the Trump administration.

Protests and events against President Donald Trump's controversial policies that include mass deportations and cuts to Medicaid and other safety nets for poor people are planned at more than 1,600 locations around the country.

"Good Trouble Lives On" refers to a term popularized by the late Rep. John Lewis. Over a dozen events are already planned in California.
