J.J. McCarthy and his fiancée are having a baby. Katya Kuropas, whom the new Minnesota Vikings quarterback proposed to in January 2024, made the announcement on a joint Instagram post on Wednesday night. The couple revealed they are expecting a boy and that he is due to arrive in September.

McCarthy and Kuropas have been together since high school and got engaged in January of 2024. The Vikings drafted McCarthy with the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft a few months after that, and he’s now set to take over as the Vikings’ starting quarterback after missing his entire rookie season with a meniscus tear.
