A North Carolina man apprehended after shooting up a waterfront bar in the seaside town of Southport on Saturday night — killing three people and wounding eight others — was a conspiracy theorist obsessed with “LGBQT” “terrorists” colluding to “traffic” him.

Years before he was arrested for allegedly opening fire in Southport, N.C., on Saturday, September 27, killing three victims, Nigel Edge, whose former name is Sean DeBevoise, once escorted American Idolalum Kellie Pickler to the CMT Awards.

Nigel Max Edge was charged for the shooting at a North Carolina waterfront bar on Saturday, which claimed the lives of three people.

Edge was born Sean William Debevoise. He later legally changed his name in 2023. In his name change petition to the court, he wrote: "There have been a lot of events in my life that I don't understand. Therefore, I do not trust my family, and I would feel more comfortable starting my life in a new path with a new name."
