There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii from a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off the coast of Russia this morning, Pacific Tsunami Warning Center officials said.

A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck near the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka region, the US Geological Survey said.
