How will Jacksonville Jaguars' rookie Travis Hunter continue to see his role expand in Week 2 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals?

The Cincinnati Bengals will take on one of the most athletic players in the NFL on Sunday when the Jacksonville Jaguars visit Paycor Stadium.

CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase praised Jaguars star rookie Travis Hunter on Thursday. "He's just a pure athlete," Chase said. "He's mad athletic."

While Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase has a lot of respect for Travis Hunter's athleticism that allows him to play both sides of the football, there is a reason he doesn't want to do it himself.

The Jacksonville Jaguars just introduced Travis Hunter to the NFL in a way no rookie has been used for decades. Sure Hunter didn’t light up the box score (six catches, 33 yards, one tackle) but the story wasn’t the stats.

The Jacksonville Jaguars opted to use Travis Hunter more as a receiver than a defensive back in their Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. But heading into a Week 2 matchup against the formidable Cincinnati Bengals offense, that could be set to change.

Last season, Hunter won the Heisman Trophy as a member of the Colorado Buffaloes. Over his two years at Colorado, he recorded 1,979 receiving yards and scored 20 touchdowns. Additionally, he made 66 tackles and had seven interceptions on defense.
