One of the most active volcanoes in the world is Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii. It has been erupting on and off since Dec. 23.

KÄ«lauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes, erupted once more on Tuesday morning, sending lava fountains soaring up to 330 feet (100 meters) into the air.
The Kilauea volcano has been erupting on and off since December 2024. In February 2025, lava started shooting up into the air once again at the volcano’s summit crater inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, per CBS News.
