SSI recipients were scheduled to get two checks in May – one on May 1 (the check for May 2025) and a second is coming on May 30 (the check for June). For months when the first of the month falls on a federal holiday or a weekend, SSI benefits are issued early – June 1 is a Sunday.

Social Security payments for May 2025 continue later this month, with the next checks scheduled for May 22 and May 31. These payments are part of the Social Security Administration’s staggered monthly distribution system, based on a recipient’s birth date and the date they began receiving benefits.
