Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz, who witnessed the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, shared on Thursday that he had received a phone call from President Donald Trump.

Kirk, who rose to prominence courting young conservatives and debating on college campuses, was fatally shot on Wednesday.

Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA co-founder and Trump ally, was assassinated on a Utah college campus Wednesday, prompting emotional tributes from Fox News hosts and contributors.

Trump ally and right-wing conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer chimed in as well via a post on X, writing: “The best way President Trump can reinforce Charlie’s legacy is by cracking down on the Left with the full force of the government.”

The 31-year-old conservative activist was shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon.
