The FBI has released new footage showing the suspect in the killing of US activist Charlie Kirk running across a roof - from where the fatal shot was fired - before dropping to the ground and crossing a road. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox held a news conference late Thursday in Orem, Utah, on the investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, showcasing a new video of a person of interest and asking the public for help identifying them.
In a live appearance on Fox & Friends in New York City on Friday morning, President Trump said he believes that the shooting suspect in the death of Charlie Kirk has been caught. "I think with a high degree of certainty we have him," Trump said. "I think we're in great shape, and he's in custody." The FBI has not yet made such an announcement.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox says the 22-year-old confessed or implied he had committed the killing to a family member.
The FBI said it is working alongside state and local law enforcement to "to fully investigate and seek justice in the fatal shooting" of Charlie Kirk.
