Boxing News on MSNPoirier's Final Weigh-In – How Does He Look?Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier made weight for their final weigh-in ahead of UFC 318 on July 19. Holloway steps into the Octagon after a knockout loss to Ilia Topuria, where he missed out on reclaiming the featherweight title.
Before Makhachev broke hearts against Poirier last year, both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira forced taps from ‘The Diamond’. But when it comes to the ‘The Eagle’, Poirier is far from the only man to fall to his unstoppable arsenal.
Dustin Poirier will receive a hero's welcome in his native Louisiana at UFC 318 when he battles Max Holloway for a third time in their careers. It's a respect Poirier earned from his peers and the promotion that they would take a PPV event to New Orleans for the first time in 25 years as a proper send off to one of the good guys in the sport's history.
Poirier has proved twice that he can defeat Holloway, as the former UFC featherweight champion is a slight betting favourite to leave UFC 318 as the BMF champion, and he has his fair share of fellow fighters who are also backing him to win.

There are already questions about whether Dustin Poirier will move into boxing after his UFC retirement, as Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal have done. After losing to Islam Makhachev by submission last year,
Poirier bounced back in a big way, emerging victorious from a brutal and bloody war with Pettis that had many touting it as the Fight of the Year. The finish came somewhat anticlimactically in round three, however, when Pettis appeared to tap out with Poirier on top of him out of nowhere.
