In the closing stages of the Canadian Grand Prix, the two McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris touched while battling for position on the main straight, causing Norris to retire.

Norris' mistake has left him 22 points behind the Australian in their fight for the championship.

Monday's F1 news includes the reprecussions of the clash between McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in the Canadian GP.

But yesterday in Montreal Piastri could only manage third while Norris qualified in seventh. Instead it was the Mercedes of George Russell who put himself on pole ahead of -- for now -- Max Verstappen...

Piastri was unscathed and eventually held onto fourth as the race finished under a safety car, allowing him to extend his title advantage.

The crash that McLaren dreaded, but that everyone else was waiting for, will not change the  team's approach, even though Lando Norris's lost valuable points in Canada. "Today's episode doesn't change our approach.

Formula 1 returns this week to tackle the scenic circuit outside of Montreal, Quebec, as the race for the championship heats up in the annual Canadian Grand Prix.

Verstappen is the +155 favorite (risk $100 to win $155) in the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix odds, followed by Piastri (+175) and George Russell (+250).
