WWE, McIntyre and Cody Rhodes
Digest more
WWE has officially confirmed Randy Orton's injury tonight. The officials commented on it during the show.
Before McIntyre could do so, it was the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes making his return and fighting McIntyre off. Rhodes then grabbed a microphone and stated that he would see McIntyre at WWE’s Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event on 9/20.
Cody Rhodes is back, and he has already thrown down a challenge. In the main event of Friday’s SmackDown, Drew McIntyre scored a win over Randy Orton after connecting with the claymore.
During the match, Orton went for his signature punt, but the referee tried to stop him. When The Viper finally went to punt Drew, he moved aside and shoved Orton into the referee. However, Randy was able to stop himself from knocking out the referee. But this allowed Drew to hit the Claymore for the win.
“The American Nightmare” has returned. After being written off by an attack from Drew McIntyre last month, the WWE Champion made a surprise return on SmackDown in Norfolk, VA. Rhodes returned to save Randy Orton from a post-match attack after McIntyre and Orton fought in the main event of SmackDown.
