The State of Alaska is offering remote Kodiak Island lots to Alaska residents in it’s annual sealed bid land auction.

Gov. Mike Dunleavy has vetoed a bill that would have increased the transparency of the state’s tax-audit process, citing legal concerns.

State and Borough burn permits in Kodiak have been suspended in response to the wildfires that are closing roads and causing home evacuations across Interior Alaska.
