The Danish defense ministry said Saturday that "drones have been observed at several of Danish defense facilities" overnight Friday into Saturday. The renewed drone sightings come after there were several drone sightings in the Nordic country earlier this week, with some of them temporarily shutting down Danish airports.
Danish defense installations witnessed renewed drone activities, prompting concerns over security amid suspected Russian aggression. The drones, spotted near the Karup Air Base, led to temporary airspace closures.
A NATO spokesperson said they would not provide details on which countries were contributing the extra assets. The new assets will enhance NATO's "Baltic Sentry" mission, launched in January in response to a string of incidents in which power cables, telecom links and gas pipelines on the Baltic Sea bottom have been damaged.
