Tributes have been paid to former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who has died at the age of 80.

Hundreds of mourners were injured on Saturday at a memorial service for Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga as crowds swelled, the Standard newspaper said on its X account.

"I have come here to mourn an icon of Africa," one mourner, Dixon Ochieng, told the BBC, while others could be heard to cry out "we are orphans" in their grief.
