Russia bombed Ukraine’s main government building for the first time in the largest overnight aerial attacks since the outbreak of the war, setting it on fire.
KYIV, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Russia launched its largest air attack of the war on Ukraine overnight, setting the main government building on fire in central Kyiv and killing at least four people, including an infant, Ukrainian officials said on Sunday.
"For the first time, the government building was damaged by an enemy attack," Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said.
A young mother and her child were killed in Kyiv, Ukraine, during the largest aerial bombardment by Russia since the war began.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's chief of staff discussed Russian strikes on Ukrainian targets with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday and told him a government building that came under attack on Sunday was hit by a Russian ballistic missile.
