The birthday information syncs with your calendar when you add a person and include their birthday in Google Contacts. You can edit or remove birthday information about the person in the Contacts app for Android or Google Contacts. If you want notifications about a specific birthday, you can create a birthday event on your calendar.

Mar 14, 2020 · What I did years ago was making an own birthday calendar in Google Calendar. I add family, friends and everyone whose birthday I want to remember. I exported all calendars, including the Contacts birthday calendar, and then imported that calendar into my own birthday calendar. So I immediately had all the birthdays of that calendar from Contacts.

The birthday calendar wasn't showing up as an option to check or uncheck to make visible. i went under the Gear menu/ Settings on the top right of the desktop version of calendar, and discovered that it was listed on the left under Calendar Settings, but with the 'eyeball" icon crossed off.
