Inside every snowflake is a form of geometry written by nature. Ice molecules naturally arrange themselves into a six sided structure. Because of this molecular pattern, snow crystals grow with hexagonal symmetry as they form inside clouds. As the crystal moves through the atmosphere, changing temperatures and humidity guide how it grows. Some develop thin plates. Others grow branching dendrites that resemble frozen ferns. Some form delicate stellar patterns that seem almost impossibly intricate

I’ve been chasing true macro snowflakes lately and I’m not quite there yet. When I came across this ice formation it almost made me forget what I was looking for in the first place.
