UPDATE: Evelyn is 3 weeks post FHO surgery. She is moving much better and will get to have a friend join her in recovery soon. While we are thrilled with Evelyn’s mobility she has developed some swelling that will be looked out by Dr. Varney. This was a big surgery and Evelyn’s only option. The femoral head ostectomy, FHO, procedure is performed to restore pain-free mobility by removing the head of the femur. The goal being that scar tissue with build up and create a new socket around the joint.
