Syria has launched a trial of electronic payments using Mastercard and Visa more than 15 years after the use of the cards was discontinued. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said it was a “step that opens Syria into the global digital payment system, and promotes the transformation towards financial inclusion.” A Syrian official was seen making a card payment at an event over the weekend to kick off the milestone. #News #International #Syria #Visa #Mastercard
